Brown’s time, 12.69, gave her second place behind Tonea Marshall of the USA, who clinched first place in 12.62 seconds. Anna Cockrell, also from the USA, finished third with a time of 12.73 seconds. The wind during the event was slightly over the allowed limit at +2.2.
Danniel Thomas-Dodd Takes Shot Put Gold for Jamaica at Miramar Invitational
In the Women’s Shot Put Final, Jamaican Danniel Thomas-Dodd secured first place with a throw of 18.48 meters, followed by Adelaide Aquilla of the USA in second place with 18.26 meters. Divine Oladipo of Great Britain came in third with a throw of 16.49 meters. Lloydricia Cameron of Jamaica finished fourth with a throw of 16.31 meters.
Jamaican Chanice Porter had a notable showing in the Women’s Long Jump Final, finishing third with a jump of 6.59 meters (with a wind of +3.0). However, Ruth Usoro of Nigeria took first place with a leap of 6.82 meters (+2.5m/s). Taliyah Brooks of the USA came in second place with a jump of 6.65 meters (+2.9m/s).
How did Christian Coleman finish at the Miramar Invitational?
In the Men’s 200m Final, American Christian Coleman and Letsile Tebogo of Botswana finished with the same time of 20.00 seconds, but Coleman took first place. Kenneth Bednarek of the USA came in third with a time of 20.37 seconds, while Brendon Rodney of Canada finished fourth with 20.42 seconds, and Joseph Paul Amoah of Ghana finished fifth with a time of 20.43 seconds.
The Men’s 400m Final saw Alonzo Russell of the Bahamas taking first place in 44.93 seconds, followed by Leungo Scotch of Botswana with a time of 45.03 seconds. Rikuya Ito of Japan came in third with a time of 46.02 seconds, while Rusheen McDonald of Jamaica finished fourth with a time of 46.13 seconds.
In the Men’s 800m Final, Ryan Sánchez of Puerto Rico clinched first place with a time of 1:46.59. Rajay Hamilton of Jamaica finished in second place with a time of 1:47.42. Kameron Jones of the USA finished in third place with a time of 1:47.47.
Eric Edwards of the USA won the Men’s 110m hurdles Final with 13.21 seconds, while Jamaicans Orlando Bennett and Damion Thomas finished in second and fourth place, respectively. Rafael Pereira of Brazil finished third with a time of 13.40 seconds, while Shane Brathwaite of Barbados finished in fifth place with a time of 13.59 seconds. The wind during the event was measured at +2.7m/s.
In the Men’s Long Jump Final, William Williams of the USA secured first place with a jump of 8.25 meters (with a wind of +4.5), followed by Natsuki Yamakawa of Japan in second place with a leap of 8.00 meters (+2.0m/s). Completing the results, Dhanushka Sandaruwan of Sri Lanka finished in third place with a jump of 7.92 meters (with a wind of +0.9), while Shoutarou Shiroyama of Japan finished in fourth place with a jump of 7.77 meters (+3.9m/s). Jamaican Tajay Gayle finished in fifth place with a leap of 7.76 meters (with a wind of +2.1).
American Amere Lattin took first place in the Men’s 400m hurdles Final with a time of 50.22 seconds, with Gabriele Montefalcone of Italy finishing closely in second place at 50.26 seconds. Marvin Williams of Jamaica finished in third place with a time of 52.74 seconds.
