Candice McLeod and Jevaughn Powell won their 400m finals on Sunday’sSunday’s (26 June) final day of the Jamaica trials at the National Stadium.

In the women’s 400m final, Candice McLeod and Stephenie-Ann McPherson battled down the stretch, but the former prevailed.
McLeod crossed the line in 50.29 ahead of McPherson, 50.49.
Charokee Young and Stacey-Ann Williams were involved in another battle, this for third, and the former ended better in 50.76 to 51.02.

The men’s 400m final failed to provide the magical sub-45 time but was full of excitement. In the very competitive final, a battle to the line, Jevaughn Powell came out on top in 45.50.
Nathon Allen finished second in 45.64 and Anthony Cox, third in 45.65.
