Chrisann Gordon-Powell wins 800m at Jamaica trials 2022

Chrisann Gordon-Powell upstaged Natoya Goule in the women’s 800m on Sunday’s (26 June) Jamaica trials at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Gordon-Powell, who trailed Goule at the bell in 59 seconds, made two unsuccessful attempts to pass on the inside. She, however, was successful in the closing stages on the outside to cross the line in 2:00.35.

Goule finished second in 2:00.83 and Adelle Tracey, third in 2:01.18.

Navasky Anderson dominated the men’s 800m, crossing the line in 1:48.53. He beat Kimar Farquharson, 1:49.36 and Tarees Rhoden, 1:49.89.
