Abby Steiner ran a world lead and personal best of 21.77 to win the women’s 200m at US trials on Sunday (26 June).

Steiner, now among the medal contenders for World Championships, trailed Jenna Prandini and Tamara Clark after 150 meters.
Prandini led at 100m in 11.27 and held the lead up to 150 metres with 16.42. Clark was also better than Steiner for the first three-quarter of the race.
Steiner was timed in 11.36 at 100m and 16.47.
In the men’s 200m, defending world champion, Noah Lyles finished strong to nip Erriyon Knighton on the line, 19.67 to 19.69.
Steiner ran 21.80s in the semi-finals.
Knighton led at 100m in 10.31 to 10.44 and also at 150m with 14.86 to 19.98.
Fred Kerley also booked his ticket by crossing the line in 19.83. Kenny Bednarek, who finished fourth in 19.87, will also make the team as Lyles is the defending champion.
Lyles ran 19.81 and Knighton, 19.97.
Daniel Roberts won the men’s 110m hurdles in 13.03.
Athing Mu topped the women’s 800m in 1:57.16.
