Eight Caribbean athletes, among them Shericka Jackson and Kirani James, will be on show at Friday’s (3 Sept) Allianz Memorial Van Damme Brussels Diamond League meeting.

Shericka Jackson, after playing second fiddle to Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce from Tokyo 2020 to the last three Diamond League over 100m, now turns her attention to the half lap. She faces intense competition from Olympics silver medallist Christine Mboma, Sha’Carrie Richardson, Dina Asher-Smith and Beatrice Masilingi.

Grenadian Olympic Games bronze medallist, Kirani James and Jamaican Christopher Taylor, will battle Michael Cherry and Isaac Makwala in the men’s 400m.

Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Megan Tapper and Danielle Williams, who ran 12.50 for victory last week, are the front runners in the women’s 100m hurdles.

Jamaican Jaheel Hyde and British Virgin’s Kyron McMaster are down for the men’s 400m hurdles. Natoya Goule will run the 800m.
