VIDEO: Danielle Williams wins gold for Jamaica

Danielle Williams won gold for Jamaica at the 28th World University Summer Games in Gwangju, South Korea on Friday.

Williams’ stopped the clock in 12.78 seconds to take her first world title.

On Thursday, UTech students Shimayra Williams and Kimarley Brown pocketed 100m silver medals.

Williams ran 11.46 to take second in the women’s 100m behind winner Viktoriya Zyabkina of Kazakhstan 11.23. Another Jamaican, Kedesha Dallas of GC Foster, was 5th in 11.49.

In the men’s 100m, Brown clocked 11.12 to take second. The event was won by South African Akani Simbine in 9.97.
