MARIETTA, USA – Yohan Blake continues his build-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with another 100m race at the American Track League (ATL) at the Marietta High School track in Georgia on Friday (9 July).
Blake, who was fourth at the Jamaica Olympic Trials, will face American Kyree King in the men’s 100m. Jason Rodgers of St. Kitts and Nevis, Jamaicans Javoy Tucker, Michael Campbell, Andre Ewers and Jevaughn Minzie and Ian Kerr of Bahamas, Travis Collins from Guyana and Mario Burke of Barbados are also in the field.
The women’s 100m will have Kai Selvon of Trinidad and Tobago, Tynia Gaither of Bahamas, Tristan Evelyn of Barbados in heat 1. Jamaicans Remona Burchell and Natalliah Whyte will face Americans English Gardner, Tamari Davis and Brittney Bown in heat 2.
Jamaicans Yanique Thompson and Danielle Williams will line up against Tiffany Porter from Great Britain, Tobi Amusan of Nigeria, and American Christine Clemons in the women’s 100m hurdles.
The women’s long jump with World leader Ese Brume from Nigeria, Chantel Malone of the British Virgin Islands, Darya Klishina and Lorraine Ugen should be interesting.

In the high hurdles, Devon Allen will clash with Jamaican Hansle Parchment. Trinidad and Tobago’s pair of Mikel Thomas and Ruebin Walters are also down to contest the men’s 110m hurdles.
Jamaicans Rasheed Dwyer and Nathon Allen will run the men’s 200m against Kyle Greaux of Trinidad and Tobago, Burke and Kerr.
Trevor Stewart and USA’s former Olympic Games champion LaShawn Merritt will face-off in the men’s 400m. Demish Gaye, TT’s pair of Machel Cedenio and Asa Guevara, Bahamian Kinard Rolle and Michael Simmons of Cayman, will also face the starter in the event.
Four Jamaicans, Tovea Jenkins, Candice McLeod, Tiffany James and Anastasia Le-Roy are down to contest the one-lap event. Americans Jessica Beard and Natasha Hastings, along with Guyanese Aliyah Abrams are also in the field.
Andre Clarke and Shawn Rowe are the Jamaicans in the men’s 400m hurdles. Ronda Whyte and Nikita Tracey, both of Jamaica, will face Trinidad and Tobago’s Sparkle McKnight and Tia-Adana Belle of Barbados in the women’s 400m hurdles.
South American champion Melissa Gonzalez in 400m hurdles and Mexican 800m record holder Tonatiu Lopez are also down to compete.
