Jamaican Sprinter Ashanti Moore Dominates Women's 100-Meter Race at Michael Johnson Invitational

Jamaican athlete Ashanti Moore continued her impressive form this season at the Texas Invitational on Friday, running a personal best of 22.49 seconds and finishing in fourth place.

While competing for ADIDAS, Moore beat her previous personal best of 22.62 seconds achieved last weekend in Waco, Texas.

Gabby Thomas, representing New Balance, won the Women’s 200-Meter event at the Texas Invitational. Thomas dominated the competition with 22.21 seconds and a 1.2 meters per second wind speed, finishing in lane 5 of heat 1.

Lanae Thomas of the Texas Longhorns followed closely behind in second place with a time of 22.38 seconds, while Rhasidat Adeleke of the Texas Longhorns finished third with 22.47 seconds in lane 7 of heat 1.

In other events, former Edwin Allen student Ackelia Smith won the Women’s Long Jump with a distance of 6.69 meters. It was a remarkable performance by these talented athletes at the Texas Invitational.
