DOHA, Qatar – Jamaica’s Kemar Mowatt is hoping to secure a place in the men’s 400m hurdles final at the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

Mowatt ran 49.63 but had to settle for fourth in heat 1, which went to Karsten Warholm of Norway in 49.27.

“I felt like I kinda underestimated the race, being out in lane 9 I couldn’t see my competitors,” he said.

Mowatt said he didn’t attack as he should have, but promise to do better in Saturday’s semi-finals.

“Its all about making it to the final,” he added. “Once I get to the final, any card could play.”
