Marvin Williams won the High School Boys’ 400m hurdles Championship title on Saturday’s final day of Penn Relays 2015.
Williams of St. Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) topped the field in 51.10 seconds. Rai Benjamin of Mount Vernon from New Jersey 51.29 was the only other athlete to break 52 seconds.
Williams, who went out fast, said he “attack the first two hurdles, because I wanted to get a good lead.”
“I am happy with the time under the condition,” he said of his 51.10, the 4th fastest time in the event history.
Orlando Smith of Kingston College (KC) finished 5th in 53.13 and his teammates Davian Baker, 11th in 55.57 and Sherwayne Allen, 12th in 55.76.
Kurth Collins of St. Andrew Technical (STATHS) ended 21st with a time of 58.52.
