Edwin Allen girls won the Championship of America 4x100m title here on the second day of the 2014 Penn Relays being staged at the Franklin field stadium. Edwin Allen added to titles in 2007 and 2008.
The quartet of Christania Williams, Claudette Allen, Saqukine Cameron and Monique Spencer took their team cross the line in 40.70secs.
Edwin Allen finished ahead of Holmwood (Sashalee Forbes, Yanique Thompson, Britney Hew and Dianna Johnson) 45.53 and Wolmer’s (Anderine Rose, Jonielle Smith, Janeek Brown, Shauna Helps) 45.62.
Michael Dyke, Edwin Allen’s coach, said “it was a good victory base on the condition”
He added “this is also a school record at Penn Relays.” He also singled out Williams, who in her last year in high school, was getting her first taste of Penn Relays.
Williams commented: “This is my first time at Penn Relays and I am really thankful.”
