BIRMINGHAM, England – The World Indoor Tour Final will take place at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Saturday, February 25, and World 200m champion Shericka Jackson from Jamaica will compete against Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita in the women’s 60m event, which is expected to be one of the highlights of the competition.

The event marks the finale of the prestigious World Indoor Tour series, which has seen six meetings over the last two months.

A number of other global medallists will participate in the event, including Keely Hodgkinson, Laura Muir, Josh Kerr, and Grant Holloway from the United States.

Grant Holloway, the world record holder in the 60m hurdles, will participate in the sprint hurdles event alongside 2023 world number two Daniel Roberts from the United States. Hodgkinson, who set a world-leading time of 1:57.71 at the World Indoor Tour Gold event in Lievin last week, will compete in the 800m event, which will be the final event of the competition.

Muir will compete in the 1000m event after winning Tour events in Boston and New York. Kerr, the second-fastest European in history over 1500m indoors, will face a tough field in the men’s 1500m event, which includes European outdoor 800m champion Mariano Garcia from Spain and UK Indoor champion Neil Gourley.

The women’s 3000m event could be one of the standout races of the competition, with the current world 5000m champion Gudaf Tsegay attempting to break the indoor world record. The Ethiopian, who ran the second-fastest indoor mile ever by a woman (4:16.16) in Torun this month, will be targeting Genzebe Dibaba’s 8:16.60, which has stood since 2014.

The race will also feature 2019 5000m bronze medallist and current European 5000m champion Konstanze Klosterhalfen from Germany.

Jereem Richards, reigning world indoor 400m champion, to compete at World Indoor Tour Final

Reigning world indoor 400m champion Jereem Richards from Trinidad and Tobago will participate in the two-lap race, while Hamish Kerr from New Zealand and Tina Sutej from Slovenia, bronze medallists at last year’s world indoors in Belgrade, will compete in the men’s high jump and women’s pole vault, respectively. The women’s pole vault field also features 2016 Olympic champion Katerina Stefanidi from Greece.
