Following the final results at the US National Outdoor Championships, a number of regular faces will be missing from Team USA’s sprint relay teams in Beijing. Some of the regulars who will absent in China include Ryan Bailey and Trell Kimmons on the men’s side and regular female anchor leg Carmelita Jeter.

The Herculis Diamond League Meeting in Monaco will give track fans a glimpse of the new look relay squad members that are likely to represent the USA in Beijing China.

Women’s 4x100m

The female quartet representing Team USA’s ‘A’ team in Monaco on Friday will feature English Gardner who placed second at the US National Championship on the lead off leg. Gardner will hand over the baton to the supremely talented Allyson Felix on the second leg with top collegian and sixth place finisher at the US National Outdoor Championships Jenna Prandini receiving on the third leg before making the final pass to the outstanding junior Kaylin Whitney (17) to take it home. The ‘B’ team is comprised of Jasmine Todd on the lead off leg to Candyce McGrone followed by Jeneba Tarmoh on the third leg and K. Jefferson on anchor. Spain is the other team in this three horse race.

Men’s 4x100m

In the men’s sprint relay, track fans will witness the top three sprinters from the US National Outdoor Championships joining forces with Justin Gatlin on the ‘A’ team. The running order is as follows Trayvon Bromell, Justin Gatlin, Tyson Gay and Mike Rodgers. On current form it is the fastest quartet in the world and track fans will be interested to see the chemistry and time produced by this line-up. The meet record is 37.58 seconds. Other teams in the field includes USA ‘B’, Portugal, Italy and France. Jamaica has won the last three IAAF World Championships and past two Olympic men’s sprint relay titles.

12:40 PM  Men’s 4x100m   ( Portugal, USA ‘A’, France, USA ‘B’, Italy)
