The Olympic champion, who continues to work on his start, battled early with American Devon Allen before finding his rhythm and pulling away from the field to take victory in a season-best 13.15 seconds.
Allen held on for second in 13.20 and Jamal Britt, also of the United States, finished third in 13.30. “So many things to fix,” Parchment said after his victory.
“I am sure coach is already getting his little book ready, writing down the things I need to work on, but otherwise, I had fun – good atmosphere. It’s warm, so it was good.”
In the women’s 100-meter hurdles, Jamaica’s Beijing 2015 world champion, Danielle Williams, finished third in 12.67 seconds in a race where American Alaysha Johnson upstaged Puerto Rico’s Olympic champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn.
Left in the blocks, the hometown star had to dig deep to get back to second in 12.52. Johnson, who was out fast, held on to win in 12.50.
