Natoya Goule-Toppin was honoured in her home of Top Coffee Grove (Bellefield), Manchester, Jamaica, last week.
Goule-Toppin, who has single handily carried Jamaica’s middle distance for the past few years, was honoured with the unveiling of a paved road renamed in her honour.
The new road, Natoya Goule Avenue, paved with stormwater drainage installed, carried an estimated $6.5 million tag.
Natoya Goule-Toppin told Trackalerts.com that she is “honoured knowing that I was recognized in this way.”
“I appreciate all the effort and thoughts that were put in place to make this possible,” she added.
She said, “growing up in that community was the happiest days of my life. My family and I often talk about all the fun times we had together.”
