Bahamians Shaunae Miller and Jeffery Gibson along with Renny Quow from Trinidad & Tobago were Caribbean winners at today’s (12 Sept) 39th AG Insurance Memorial Van Damme, the final meet of the 6th IAAF Diamond League.

Miller topped the women’s 400m field in 50.48, beating overall Diamond League winner Francena McCorrory (USA) 50.59.

Jamaicans Stephenie-Ann McPherson 51.00, Christine Day 51.96 and Novlene Williams-Mills 52.04, were 3rd, 6th and 7th respectively.

Quow took the men’s 400m in 45.29 ahead of Belgium’s Kevin Borlee 45.43. Peter Matthews, 45.74, and Rusheen McDonald, 47.89, both of Jamaica, ended 3rd and 9th respectively.

Gibson took the 400m hurdles in 48.72 ahead of Bershawn Jackson (USA) 48.76.

Asafa Powell, in the men’s 100m, crossed the finish line in 10.04 for 5th while Ramon Gittens of Barbados finished 6th in 10.11

American Justin Gatlin 9.98 won the event in which Nesta Carter was dq’ed.

Elaine Thompson 22.26 and Sherone Simpson 23.12 went across the line in 3rd and 6th spots. Dafne Schippers (NED) 22.12 won ahead of Allyson Felix 22.22.

In the men’s 200m, Miguel Francis of Antigua, was 2nd in 22.22 behind winner Femi Ogunode (QAT) 19.97.

Jamaicans Rasheed Dwyer 20.27 and Nickel Ashmeade 20.59 were 3rd and 5th respectively.

Kimberly Williams (JAM) 14.28m finished 4th in the women’s triple jump, won by Caterine Ibarguen (COL) 14.60m.

O’Dayne Richards (JAM) 21.37m was the 2nd place finisher in the men’s shot put. The event went to Tom Walsh (NZL) 21.39m
