SAN DIEGO, USA – Carmelita Jeter, the 2011 World 100m champion, made a quiet return to the track earlier this week (race video below). Her first races since last year’s IAAF World Championships in Moscow was at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista and an all-comers meet at San Diego Mesa College.
On Wednesday, at the meet in Mesa College, Jeter ran against men were timed in 11.32 seconds, slower than her 11.27 done last week Saturday at the San Diego-Imperial USATF Open Championships in Chula Vista
The 34-year Jeter will again race next week in Sacramento — the site for the 2014 USATF Outdoor Championships, where she is entered in the 100m. She, however, will not have any major championships this year.
