Stacey Ann Williams' time is the second-fastest in the NCAA this season, and fifth-best in Texas history.

Jamaican Stacey-Ann Williams won the Big 12 400m title on Sunday’s (16 May) final day of the 3-day Championships in Manhattan, Kansas.

Williams, formerly of St. Elizabeth Technical High and Champs winner, won the women’s 400m final in 51.30. Williams’ teammate Kennedy Simon finished second in 52.24.

Baylor’s Howard Fields III took the men’s event in a time of 45.72 ahead of Derrick Mokaleng of TCU, 45.95.

In the women’s 100m final, former Edwin Allen Boys and Girls Champs star Kevona Davis won bronze in a reasonably good 11.36 seconds.

Davis’ Texas Longhorn teammates, Kynnedy Flannel, 11.19 and Rhasidat Adeleke, 11.36, were the top two finishers.

Chanel Brissett, Davis, Adeleke, and Flannel combined for 44.36 to take the top spot in the women’s 4x100m final. Ackera Nugent helped Baylor to second in 44.82. 

Texas Tech’s duo of Courtney Lindsey and Jacolby Shelton ran 10.26, but the former got the men’s 100m final win.

Former Excelsior star Nugent ran 13.07 for second in the women’s 100m hurdles. Texas Longhorn’s Tara Davis stole the show in 13.02.

TCU with TJ Brock Jr, Tinotenda Matiyenga, Kundai Maguranyanga and Robert Gregory won the men’s 4x100m in 39.75.

Daniel Garland, Steffin McCarter, Caleb Hulbin and Micaiah Harris carried Texas to second place in 39.79.
