Jamaican sprinter Shericka Jackson finished fourth in the women’s 60m indoor final at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on February 25, 2023.
The race was won by Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain with a time of 7.05 seconds, earning her 10 points, while Jackson finished with a time of 7.18 seconds, earning 3 points. Jackson ran 7.14 seconds in the heats, while Asher-Smith clocked 7.03 seconds.
British sprinter Daryll Neita performed strongly for second place in 7.13 seconds.

Jackson’s Jamaican teammate Natasha Morrison finished fifth with 7.24 seconds, while Anthonique Strachan of the Bahamas finished sixth with 7.25 seconds. Gina Lückenemper of Germany and Asha Philip of Great Britain rounded out the field.
Jamaican Athlete Tajay Gayle Takes Second Place in Men’s Long Jump
In the men’s long jump, Jamaican athlete Tajay Gayle placed second with an 8.13m jump, while Marquis Dendy of the USA won the event with an 8.28m leap. William Williams, also from the USA, finished third with a jump of 8.03m.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Jereem Richards won the men’s 400m in 45.74 seconds. American Vernon Norwood finished second in 45.92 seconds, while Ireland’s Jack Raftery came in third with a time of 46.66 seconds, securing the bronze medal.
Charles Dobson, a British sprinter, won the men’s 60m indoor final at the Indoor Meeting with a time of 6.64 seconds. Adam Gemili took second place with a time of 6.68 seconds, while Sam Gordon finished third with a time of 6.70 seconds.
In the men’s 60m hurdles final, Grant Holloway of the USA won the gold medal with a time of 7.35 seconds, earning him 10 points. Daniel Roberts, also from the USA, finished second with 7.47 seconds, earning 7 points, while Cuban athlete Roger Iribarne finished third with 7.58 seconds, earning 5 points.
Canadian athlete Alysha Newman won in the women’s pole vault with a 4.78m. Tina Šutej of Slovenia finished second with a jump of 4.71m, while Gabriela Leon of the USA finished third with a jump of 4.61m.
In the women’s 1000m race, Laura Muir of Great Britain won with a time of 2:34.53, beating Claudia Mihaela Bobocea of Romania who finished second with a time of 2:35.35. Sofia Ennaoui of Poland finished third with a time of 2:35.69.
Hamish Kerr of New Zealand won with a 2.28m clearance in the men’s high jump, while Erik Portillo of Mexico finished second with the same jump. Edgar Rivera of Mexico finished third with a jump of 2.25m.
