Clemson Invitational -- Danielle Williams takes bronze in 100m hurdles Doha 2019

Former world 100m hurdles champion Danielle Williams and Kiara Grant of Jamaica are set to compete at the Clemson Bob Pollock Invitational on Friday, January 27th.

Williams, who won gold at the 2015 World Championships, will face tough competition from Ja’mia Johnson (FR, Elon), Anna Witherspoon (SO, Georgia Tech), Tairah Johnson (FR, Tennessee), Victoria Abunaw (FR, Cincinnati), Laysha Tunti (SO, Kennesaw State) and Calista Manns (SR, Cincinnati).

American former NCAA indoor champion Kayla White will also compete in the women’s 60m dash. Two-time NCAA champion Cambria Sturgis will also be in the event.

Jamaican Lashanna Graham will represent Clemson in the women’s 400m.

On Saturday, Williams will face Sturgis in heat 3 of the women’s 200m dash, and heat 2 will see a battle between Jamaican Kiara Grant of Clemson, Antiguan Joella Lloyd of Tennessee, and White.

Rosealee Cooper of Mississippi State will line up in heat 5 of the event.

Jamaicans Jesica McLean and Kayan Green will represent Clemson in the women’s 800m, and Tyrese Reid, also Jamaican, will represent Mississippi State in the men’s 800m.
