World 100m champion Fraser-Pryce, in heat 1 with a 1.1m/s tailwind, cruised across the line in 10.97 seconds. She was in total control from about 50m.

Thompson-Herah, the defending Olympic Games 100m/200m champion, ease down about 80 meters and eased across the line in 10.96.
Natalliah Whyte followed Thompson-Herah across the line in 11.14.

Briana Williams and Kemba Nelson almost ran neck and neck in heat 4. Williams won the heat in 11.00, and Nelson finished second in 11.05.
Kevona Davis finished third in the heat in 11.19.

However, the day’s fastest time came from Shericka Jackson, who ran 10.91 to take heat 3. The mark was a huge personal best for the Doha World 400m bronze medallist.
