Elaine Thompson, the fastest woman so far in 2015, didn’t let the big names in her first international race affect her.

Thompson, on Saturday night, at the Jamaica Invitational, despite falling short of her personal best 10.92, defeated big names such as American Allyson Felix, Jamaican Kerron Stewart and Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria.

It was her first real test and according to her, "I knew the names in the field were big, so I just didn't try to get nervous. I just went out there and delivered."

"I was feeling good, I know I could win so I just go out there to execute as best as I could," said the former Christiana and Manchester High student.

She crossed the line in 10.97, the only one to dip under 11 seconds in the race. Okagbare ended second in 11.05 and Felix third in 11.09.
