Jamaican Ackera Nugent won two titles at this weekend’s (14 & 15 Jan) TTU Corky Classic held at Sports Performance Center, Lubbock, Texas.

The world U20 100m hurdles champion ran 7.27 to win the women’s 60m dash. She beat her Baylor teammates Sydney Washington, 7.33 and Caira Pettway, 7.38.

Later, Ackera Nugent returned to turn the third leg of the 4x400m team that secured victory in 3:39.49 ahead of Texas Tech 3:39.83 and Arizona 3:43.42.

Former Manchester High and Holmwood Technical student/athlete Kavia Francis led off for Baylor.

Jelena Rowe won the women’s high jump with a clearance of 1.80m. Trey Culver won the men’s event with 2.22m.

Baylor’s Matthew Moorer ran 20.83 to beat Ashton O’Conner, 21.13 in the men’s 200m. The women’s event went to Annesa Scott of Texas Tech, 24.32.
