Briana Williams pulls out of final at New Balance Indoor Grand Prix

Briana Williams has pulled out of the women’s 60m dash at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in New York.

In her season opener, Williams ran 7.22 for third in heat two and seventh fastest time going into the final.

Williams’ coach Ato Boldon confirmed the withdrawal.

“I pulled her,” said Boldon, while adding Briana indicated “her hamstring is bothering her.”

Boldon’s comment came via a track and field WhatsApp group.

American Aleia Hobbs, who won Williams’ heat in 7.10, is the fastest qualifier.

Heat one winner Candace Hill, also of the United States, is the second-fastest with 7.16.

The final is set for 4:57 pm (Jamaica time).
