Gout Gout Set to Face Olympic Champion Tebogo at Oslo Diamond League

The Bislett Games in Oslo will feature one of the most anticipated 200m matchups of the season when Australian teenager Gout Gout steps onto the Diamond League stage for the first time as a senior athlete on June 10.

Gout earned his spot in the spotlight just days earlier, clocking 19.67 seconds at the Australian national championships in Sydney. The run broke Usain Bolt’s under-20 world record and immediately put the track world on notice. The 18-year-old is now heading into his first full Diamond League season with serious momentum behind him.

Standing in his lane in Oslo will be Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo, along with Alexander Ogando and Courtney Lindsey. The field makes the Oslo 200m one of the stronger sprint races on the 2025 Diamond League calendar.

Oslo will not be the only time Gout and Tebogo share a track this year. The two sprinters are also scheduled to meet at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on July 4, making it a two-meeting rivalry to watch across the summer season.

While Gout is new to the senior Diamond League circuit, he is not completely unfamiliar with it. Last season, he won an under-23 200m race at the Monaco meeting, giving him a taste of the environment before his full senior debut.

The Oslo 200m headlines a busy stretch of Diamond League sprint racing. Just days earlier, the BAUHAUS-Galan in Stockholm on June 7 announced its own strong men’s 200m field, headlined by two-time Diamond League champion Kenneth Bednarek.

The 2025 Wanda Diamond League season opened in Shanghai and Keqiao on May 16 and runs through to the two-day series final in Brussels on September 4 and 5. The series visits 15 cities across four continents before wrapping up in the Belgian capital.
