Jaydon Hibbert is set to begin his season at the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix this weekend. The top NCAA athlete last season expressed his enthusiasm for the meet, stating, “Super excited to announce that I will be opening my season this Sunday, April 28 at the @usatf Bermuda Grand Prix.

“Can’t wait to enjoy all the good vibes this meet has to offer, including the travel, the excitement, and an overall great start to the season! Praying God will be seen in the greater light and I in the lesser light! Love, love, and more love! #1hibby #puma.”
This competition marks Hibbert’s return to the field after a significant setback last year. Despite setting a Championship record with a 58-1 (17.70m) jump during the qualifiers at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest—a mark that surpassed the eventual gold medal distance—Hibbert had to withdraw from the final due to an injury.
After an unprecedented freshman year, which saw him claim the Bowerman award and turn professional, Hibbert has consistently set new benchmarks. He shattered multiple collegiate records and captured World U20 records, setting a new indoor national record for Jamaica. Hibbert’s outdoor performances have been equally impressive, including breaking the NCAA record with a leap of 58-7.5 (17.87m) at the SEC Championships.
