Rushell Clayton at the Oregon22 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA

Rushell Clayton was the only Jamaican winner at Tuesday’s (30 Aug) Palio Città della Quercia Rovereto 2022, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Level meeting.

Clayton, at the meet in Rovereto, Italy, won the women’s 400m hurdles in 53.75 ahead of Viktoriya Tkachuk (UKR), 54.77.

American Twanisha Terry won the women’s 100m in 11.02 ahead of Americans Kayla White, 11.18 and Javianne Oliver, 11.31.

Jamaican Junelle Bromfield ran 51.86 to finish behind Kaylin Whitney of USA, 51.12, in the women’s 400m.

Allie Wilson of the USA won the women’s 800m in 1:58.53.

Michael Campbell ran 10.53 for eighth in the men’s 100m and Rusheen McDonald 45.63 for third in the men’s 400m.

Anthony Foster
Anthony Foster is a renowned Jamaican sports journalist, honored twice as the Jamaica sports journalist of the year (in 2004 and 2005). His journalistic achievements are globally recognized.
