Former Jamaican sprinter Simone Facey is now “officially a certified coach.” She completed all the USATF Coaching Education Level 1 Program requirements on August 26, 2022.

Facey, an Olympic Games 4x100m relay silver medallist, shared the news on her social media page. “Officially a certified coach,” she wrote.

Six hours after the post, several former athletes, including Ato Bolton, Kemoy Campbell, and Anneisha McLaughlin, reacted with love to the news.

Facey also helped Jamaica to gold in the 4x100m at the Berlin 2009 World Athletics Championships. She was also a member of the 4x100m teams that won silver in Osaka 2007 and bronze in London 2017.

She is a Pam Am Games 200m silver medallist in 2011 and took bronze at the same meet in Toronto in 2015.

When Jamaica hosted the World Athletics U20 Championships in 2002, Facey anchored the host home to beat the USA with Lauryn Williams.
