Erriyon Knighton for Oregon22

EUGENE (USA): Some of the world’s prominent Under-20 athletes are entered at Oregon22, mainly US sprinter Erriyon Knighton, who leads the lists for 2022 and is expected to attack the top positions.

Also, Kenyan 800-meter runners Noah Kibet and Emmanuel Wanyonyi. Botswana´s Letsile Tebogo is in the 100 meters, clocking a better time than world Under-20 record but his mark would not be ratified.

Australia has Under-20 sprinters in the 200 meters (Calab Law and Aidan Murphy), and there are Eritrea’s long distance runners (Merhawi Mebrahtu 13:04.49 and Habtom Samuel 27:20.08).

Also worth of mention in the Nigerian team is sprinter Udodi Unwuzurike for 100 meters (10.03) and 200 meters (20.08), with 400 meter hurdler Ezekiel Nathaniel.

Uganda has Peter Maru with a 13:07.42 best in the 5000 meters and Morocco Salaheddine Ben Hazide in the steeple (8:19.63).

Other women will figure, for example, Kenyan steeple runner Jackline Chepkoech, Namibian sprinter Beatrice Masilingi and US sprinter Tamari Davis, the 100 meters reserve who is expected to compete in the relay.

From the Under-18 category only very few names, Ethiopian  800-meter runner Ermias Girma (1:44.36), Ethiopian steeple runner Sembo Almayew (9:09.19), Estonian high jumper Karen Bruus and Australian 800-meter runner Claudia Hollingsworth (the overall youngest competitor) are expected to be in medal contention.
