EDMONTON (CAN, Jul 3): Canadian World finalist Marco Arop clocked the third-fastest 800 meters of the season with 1:43.61 at the Pre-World Invitational (WACT Silver) at Foote Field.

Fast US sprinters, Brandon Carnes 10.03 (+1.5w) won the 100 meters over Nigerian Usheoritse Itsekiri (10.10). Jamal Britt’s 13.22 (+0.6w) took the hurdles over Eric Edwards (13.31), while Paul Dedewo clocked 45.69 seconds in the 400 meters.
On the women’s side, Morolake Akinosun’s 11.05 (+1.7w) seconds in the 100 meters placed her ahead of Shania Collins (11.07) and Destiny Smith-Barnett (11.13).
Wadeline Jonathas did 51.24 in the 400 meters, beating Aliyah Abrams from Guyana (51.29).

Chanel Brissett ran 12.87 (-1.1w) in the 100-meter hurdles over Canadian champion Michelle Harrison’s 12.90 (she also clocked 11.40 personal best in the 100 meters for fourth).
In the javelin, world champion Kelsey-Lee Barber with 61.40 meters beat Liz Gleadle (60.12). Sarah Mitton got 19.99 meters in the shot put over New Zealand´s Madison-Lee Wesche (19.01).
Jazz Shukla topped the 800 meters in 2:00.67, a personal best. The USA’s Sean Donnelly won the men’s hammer with a 75.01-meter throw.
