Sha’Carri Richardson failed to advance out of the first round of the women’s 100ms at the USA Track and Field championships, US Trials.

One of the first surprising results of the trials so far, Richardson failed to engage with the media afterwards, rushing past the media in the tunnel underneath the stadium.
In the third heat of the opening round, she finished fifth in a time of 11.31.
“That’s a shocker,” Justin Gatlin, who recently stated that Richardson had been running 10.40 seconds in training, said during commentary. “The wind has been taken out of the stadium right now.”
Nineteen-year-old Tamari Davis won the heat in 11.04. Hometown star and 200m favourite, Jenna Prandini, finished second in 11.18.
