The upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games likely would be postponed one or two years. This is likely if the event is unable to keep the scheduled July 24 to August 9 timeframe, a member of the Tokyo 2020 organizing committee’s executive board told The Wall Street Journal.
Several sporting events have been cancelled or postponed because of the fast-spreading coronavirus (COVID-19).
Haruyuki Takahashi told the newspaper in an article published Tuesday that other options — such as playing the Games without spectators or cancelling them entirely — would have substantial financial ramifications.
Thus, a postponement would be the best option if the Games do not begin as scheduled, informed Vancouversun.com.

Athletes only in the stadium. This has to be coupled with a rigid testing protocol for Covid-19 on athletes and officials.
@Olaniyi Oluniyi you are forgetting about the revenue spectators generate. That’s the whole point of hosting the Olympics.
Only athletes competing, their coaches, camera men and people who have official work to do should allowed into the Olympic Stadium.
All spectators should watch through live streaming, televisions and electronic mediums.
That is NO spectator should be allowed into the Olympic Stadium.
