Clayton Brown shines

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Clayton Brown and Julien Alfred enjoyed good outings on Friday (31 January) here at the Razorback Invitational.

Senior jumper Brown also posted top-5 marks Friday evening. The Jamaica native finished the first day of competition tied for the No. 3 spot in Division I, while also tying his personal record of 2.25m (7 feet, 4.5 inches) in the high jump. His mark remains the fifth-best clearance in school history.

Meanwhile, Julien Alfred ran 23.08 to take second place in the women’s 200m. The mark is the fastest indoor time ever for a Caribbean U20 woman. It’s also the second-fastest time in the world for 2020.

O’Brien Wasome, representing Texas, leapt 7.46m for sixth in the men’s long jump. Rayvon Grey of LSU won the event with 8.09m.
