Briana Williams working well without her training partner

For the first time since joining Ato Boldon’s training group, Briana Williams is working without a training partner.

This, according to her coach Boldon was of “concern” but not for long.

“I thought taking in someone to train with her would be a good idea. Well, it turns out I was wrong. She assured me she didn’t need a training partner. Her workouts have always accurately indicated to me what’s coming, and she will be better in 2020 than she was in 2019,” Boldon was quoted by Sportsmax saying.

According to Boldon, Briana “had no female training partners for the first time under me and she hadn’t competed since July,” but is very optimistic of the 2020 season.

Trinidad and Tobago’s sprinter Khalifa St Fort parted ways with Boldon earlier this year.

In 2019, Williams ran 10.94s, the first Jamaican junior to go sub-11, but was later pulled before the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (IADP) panel for a failed drugs test at the Jamaican Trials.

She was, however, given a public reprimand.
