DOHA, Qatar – Tyquendo Tracey expressed disappointment with his first-round performance on Friday’s opening day of the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

“I am in really good shape, so this is a shocker for me to come out and run like this,” he said.

Tracey, who ran 10.21 for fourth in his heat, squeezed into the semi-finals.

“To be honest, it’s not a good performance, I finished fourth,” he said.

“I was really nervous because it’s my first Major Championships,” he explained.

American Christian Coleman leads the way with 9.98 (+0.1 m/s).
Akani Simbine (10.01); defending champion Justin Gatlin (10.01), Yohan Blake (10.06) and Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes (10.08) are the fastest qualifiers.
