Jamaica Named Strong Pan Am Junior Team

Kai Chang became the second Jamaican behind Fedrick Dacres to win gold at Jamaica at the IAAF World U20 Championships

World U20 champions Briana Williams and Kai Chang head the list of athletes to represent Jamaica at the 2019 Pan Am Junior Championships. The city of San Jose in Costa Rica will host the event from July 18–21, 2019.

Williams, who won the sprint double at the World U20 Championships in Finland last year, is the overwhelming favourites for gold in San Jose. She ran 10.94 at the Jamaica Trials a week ago.

Chang won the discus at the World U20 Championships in Finland last year.

  • I’m confused with the entrants for the Pan Am Juniors. I read in the Observer that Brianna is on the U18 Nacac team to be held in Mexico. Is she also competing at the Junior Pan Am in Costa Rica?
