Yohan Blake, the 2011 World 100m champion, has pulled out of the IAAF World Relays scheduled for this weekend.
The event to be held for the first time out of The Bahamas will be in Yokohama, Japan from May 11 to May 12, 2019.
JAAA’s president Dr Warren Blake explained the athlete’s reason to withdraw.
“Yohan’s reason for replacement was that he didn’t feel that he could travel all that way to run in one race … That’s what his agent wrote and told us,” Dr Blake said on RJR.
Blake has expressed an interest in running both 4x100m and 4x200m relays.
Jura Levy and Kenroy Anderson have also withdrawn.
Chadic Hinds and Gayon Evans have been added as replacements.
