McLeod, Miller-Uibo, Gardiner for Hungarian Grand Prix on July 2

SZEKESFEHERVAR, Hungary – The 8th edition of Istvan Gyulai Memorial/Hungarian Grand Prix, set for Monday, July 2, will have three big Caribbean names in action.

The clash of the day features Jamaica’s Olympic and World champion Omar McLeod. He takes on World leader Sergey Shubenkov and home star Balazs Baji.

In the women’s 400m, Bahamian Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo hopes to continue her impressive form this season. She faces World champion Phyllis Francis and co-World leader Shakima Wimbley.

Bahamian Steven Gardiner is back after Stockholm’s 200m and will run the 400m for the first time since May 12.

Barshim in action at Hungarian Grand Prix

Men’s high jump has the top duel Mutaz Essa Barshim against Danil Lysenko.

American Olympic winner Dalilah Muhammad is in the 400 m hurdles, Christian Taylor (who competed also in the 1st edition of the meet in 2011) will contest the men’s triple jump.

Americans Kendra Harrison and Brianna McNeal, the top two hurdlers in the world, are also promising something special in the women’s sprint obstacle.

In the men´s 100m, American Mike Rodgers faces Akani Simbine and Arthur Cisse.
The Women´s 100m should be a clash of Marie-Jose Ta Lou and Michelle-Lee Ahye.

Yasmani Copello and Bershawn Jackson are the 400m hurdles favourites.
