Yohan Blake ensured a sprint double on the last day of the Jamaican Championships, winning the 200m in a season’s best of 19.97 (his first sub-20 clocking since 2012) ahead of Rasheed Dwyer (20.26) and Warren Weir (20.39).
Two new qualifiers the women’s 200m final, with Shashalee Forbes winning in a 22.71 PB ahead of veteran Simone Facey 22.74 with Jodean Williams third in a 22.95 PB.
World champion Danielle Williams returned to form with victory in a high quality 100m hurdles final in a 12.56 PB ahead of Megan Simmonds 12.63 PB and 2013 world Youth Champion, Yanique Thompson 12.69 PB.
Shericka Jackson won a good quality 400m final in 50.05 from Chris-Ann Gordon (50.13 PB) and Novlene Williams-Mills (50.14) while Nathon Allen (44.58) and Demish Gaye (44.64) broke the 45-second barrier in the men’s 400m.
In the men’s shot put final, O’Dayne Richards won the title with 21.29m from discus specialist Fedrick Dacres (20.25m) and Ashinia Miller (20.22m) and Kimberly Williams went out to a wind-assisted 14.60m in the triple jump.
