St. Jago finished third in the Invitational Girls’ 4x200m at Saturday’s (14 January) VA Showcase meet in Virginia, United States.
St. Jago, the first Jamaican school team to run indoors, was timed in 1:39.02secs. Western Branch High topped the 15-team field in 1:37.09 ahead of Bullis School 1:37.62.
Nolan Jez, Meet Director, last year spoke of the reason behind inviting St. Jago girls.
“Our goal behind this is to create an atmosphere and field of competition moving forward that rivals The Penn Relays but for indoors,” he said.
Last outdoor season they ran 1:36.72 in the 4×200 and 3:41.90 in the 4×400 at the Gibson Relays.
