Jamaicans Veronica Campbell-Brown and Danielle Williams were winners at today’s (18 May) IAAF World Challenge meeting in Beijing.
Two-time Olympic Games champion, Campbell-Brown, won the women’s 200m in 22.29 ahead of compatriot Simone Facey 22.63. American Tiffany Townsend was third in 23.06.
In the sprint hurdles, World champion Williams topped the field in 12.80secs. Americans Christina Manning, 12.91 and Tiffany McReynolds, 12.97, were second and third respectively.
Justin Gatlin, USA’s fastest man, won the men’s 100m in 9.94 ahead of fellow American Mike Rodgers 9.97. Trinidad and Tobago’s Keston Bledman finished fifth in 10.17
Aries Merritt (USA) ran 13.24 to win the men’s 110m hurdles while Majd Eddin Ghazal (SYR) topped the men’s high jump with 2.36m.
