Edwin Allen produced a record run to take the top spot in Friday’s High School Girls’ 4x100m Championship of America final at the 123rd Penn Relays.

The quartet of Kasheika Cameron, Kevona Davis, Shellece Clark and Patrice Moody combined for 43.96secs, the first sub-44 in Penn Relays history.

Edwin Allen, winners of the event for the fourth straight year, beat Vere’s 2004 record of 44.32.

The school from Frankfield in Clarendon now has four of the fastest times at this event.

Three other Jamaican schools finished in the top four.

St. Jago, 44.53secs, Kimone Shaw, Aneka Brissette, Tissanna Hickling and Joanne Reid

Hydel, 44.56secs, Isheena Belnavis, Roneisha McGregor, Ray-Donna Lee and Shiann Salmon

St. Catherine, 45.26, Cish Williams, Shakiera Bowra, Alliyah Allwood and Julien Alfred
