Fedrick Dacres said “its a great feeling” to win a medal at the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

Dacres, on day 4, threw 66.94m to take the historic silver medal for Jamaica. Sweden’s Daniel Stahl’s 67.59m heave took gold.

“To win a medal at the senior level is a great feeling,” said Dacres.

“The competition was very good. I think this must be the happiest discus field ever. The person who came fifth still threw beyond 66m.

“I hope the youngsters back home watching were inspired. They see a normal person working hard and getting to a point where he can be amongst the best in the world.
