Veteran sprinter Kim Collins of St Kitts and Nevis will open his 2014 outdoor season at an invitational meet in St Marten on May 3.

Collins, who will celebrate his 38th birthday on April 5,  impressed in the indoor season when lowering his 60-metre national record to 6.49.

That time represents a world masters record for the category 35+.

He recorded a personal best 9.97 for the 100 metres to become the fastest oldest sub 10 runner.

Following the meet in St Marten, Collins is set to appear at the Cayman Islands Invitational on May 7.
