Before They Were Olympians…

All eight of the Olympians to be honored in Fayetteville this Saturday achieved the highest level of athletic accomplishment during their time at Arkansas.

The prelude to their international success began first at the league level with every honoree capturing at least one Southeastern Conference title during their tenure as a Razorback.

They progressed to NCAA recognition, topping the nation in their respective events and bringing further pride to the University of Arkansas with each step across the finish line, large leap or bar clearance.

Forever Razorbacks, Arkansas welcomes these ambassadors home and looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of young men and women who went on to global success following their time on the hill.

Arkansas track and field was represented in Rio by 14 current and previous Razorback student-athletes who returned with two gold and two silver medals – bringing the program’s all-time Olympic medal count to 17.
