Trinidad & Tobago’s Khalifa St. Fort ran a 100m personal best of 11.19 to take the silver medal, at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Cali on Thursday (17 July).

American Candace Hill who won in 11.08 seconds is the World Junior Champion. 

However, St Fort, who is being coached by Ato Boldon, said she can run faster. She, however, would not take anything away from Hill, who became the first girl to run under 11 seconds, 10.98 last month. “I think she’s a phenomenal athlete,” said St Fort, adding, “I look forward to competing against her again.” 

The silver medalist continued, “I think I can go a lot faster. I have a lot of things to fix and I expect great things all year.”
