Jamaican athlete Kaliese Spencer is set to receive her first major global medal after Russian 400m hurdler Natalya Antyukh was stripped of her gold medal from the 2012 London Olympics due to doping.

Spencer will be upgraded to bronze as a result.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) announced that Antyukh did not appeal a penalty that included the removal of her results from July 2012 to June 2013, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) can now “proceed with the reallocation of medals and the update of the IOC database.”
American athlete Lashinda Demus will be declared the champion, with Zuzana Hejnová of the Czech Republic receiving silver. Antyukh had already been serving a four-year ban and received the added punishment of having her 2012 results stripped due to evidence from the Moscow anti-doping laboratory.
Demus, a world champion in 2011, retired from competition in 2016.
