Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce wins 200m semi-final at Jamaica Trials

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shericka Jackson have all secured easy passage to Sunday’s 200m final at the Jamaica Trials in Kingston.

Thompson-Herah, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games sprint double champion, booked her spot in 22.68 from semi-final 1/3. Ashanti Moore took the other automatic spot with 23.21, the same time as Jodean Williams.

Jackson was up next in semi-final 2, and she shut it down from about 50 metres out. She cruised across the line in 2.85 ahead of Natalliah Whyte, 23.05.

Fraser-Pryce, however, recorded the night’s fastest time of 22.54. She, too, was very easy.
