Shafiqua Maloney is the lone athlete named to represent Team St. Vincent and the Grenadines IAAF World Under-20 Championships.
Maloney will run the 400m at the Championships to be held in Bydgoszcz, Poland from 19 to 24 July 2016.
She was selected after running a time of 54.88secs in St. Kitts where she presently resides and attends school. The standard set by the IAAF for the 400m was 55.25 secs.
Former Jamaica athlete Jenice Daley, who now coaches in St. Kitts and Nevis, will be the Coach and Chaperone to accompany Shafiqua.
They are expected to depart St. Kitts on the 16 July for Poland.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in a release, said “TASVG joins with the nation in wishing her all success at the games.”
