Natoya Goule and Danielle Williams were winners at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in New York on Sunday, February 6.

Goule won the women’s 800m in 1:59.62 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year. Leading from the front, she was pressed by American Olivia Baker, who was only good enough for second in 2:00.33.
Danielle Williams’ victory came in the women’s 60-meter hurdles in a personal-best effort of 7.83 seconds after taking the lead at the fifth hurdle. Fellow Jamaican Britany Anderson, who was leading at the fourth hurdle, finished second in her own personal-best time of 7.88. Gabriele Cunningham, who had led at the third hurdle, was third in 7.92.
Briana Williams takes 2nd place at New Balance Indoor GP
After posting a fast 7.09-second personal best in her 60-meter heat, Briana Williams returned to take second place in the final, after trailing Destiny Smith-Barnett (2.06), Canadian Khamica Bingham (2.10) and Mikiah Brisco of United States (2.11) over the first ten meters. Williams then improved, as only Smith-Barnett (4.21), and Brisco (4.23) led her at the halfway mark. She eventually crossed the finish line in 7.11 seconds behind Brisco’s 7.07.
American Noah Lyles won the men’s 60-meter dash in 6.56 seconds, beating Barbadian Mario Burke (6.63) and the USA’s Travis Collins (6.64).
The men’s 400 meters went to Trinidad and Tobago’s Jerome Richards, who crossed the finish line in a personal-best 45.83 seconds. Americans Vernon Norwood (46.06) and Kahmari Montgomery (46.24) were second and third, respectively.
Christopher Taylor second to Trayvon Bromell at New Balance Indoor GP
In the men’s 200 meters, Christopher Taylor ran 20.81 seconds to finish second behind American Trayvon Bromell, who clocked 20.64. Johnoy Thompson, the other Jamaican in the event, finished fifth in 21.68.
